w210 turn signal module
Hi,I have a problem with my turn signal module/lever,1996 W210.First I tought that it is the common problem with the loose screw around the steering column, unfortunatly, when I dismantled the steering to get to it,I noticed that the screw is tight, the issue is with the lever and module herself, lever is loose in the housing, every attempt to turn the signal, will pop the square plasic piece that keeps the lever tight...I have the whole module with lever in my hand right now, dont know if it can be fixed/taken apart or I have to find a replacement.Any suggestions?

You will have to purchase a new one and just replace it in entirety. I ordered mine from Fastlane (click "Buy Parts" above) and it arrived in a couple days. Replacement is very easy. Just be sure the battery is disconnected and you do not turn the ignition key on. Otherwise your ABS light will be triggered requiring a trip to the dealer to turn it off (ask me how I know).
EDIT: I meant the SRS light would be triggered. You can not reset this light with an OBDII or other simple scanner. |
Took a couple apart and was never able to fix them.
Pretty cheap plastic parts, have always had to just replace them. Kind of like ML window switch assemblies.........Cheap junk. |
Hi,
I have the same issue with the turn signal switch in my W210. What is the procedure for replacement?....do I need to remove the steering wheel? Thanks in advance! |
