I did that already

I have tried that a million times. Still nothing. Any other sugestions would be greatly appreciated. I would love to roll my rear windows down.

You probably already know this but to be sure...

The windows won't roll down with the second detent until you do the full up for a couple of seconds routine. You have to do this each time you restore power.

If that doesn't do it then maybe there's a problem with the convenience module. Might also be related to your battery drain problem.

When you reconnect the battery you have to retrain each window so the auto-up/down features work. Through the window switches, holding the key in lock, and holding down the remote button.

I don't remember the exact procedure is in the manual. What I do with each window after reconnecting the battery is lower a couple of inches, raise using the first click of the switch and hold the switch for a 3 count (1-2-3) after the window is fully raised. After doing all 4 windows the auto-up/down features work again.

The convenience module in my car is in the trunk above the battery behind the trunk liner.

Non-technical fix?

Maybe your problem does lie with the electronics as the others have said. My 300E isn't so complex. However, I've found that the rear windows on my car often will not open after a long period of not opening them. It seems that the windows stick to the seals. I gently tap around the inside and outside edges of the windows using the heel of my hand. After doing this once or twice, the windows will open. I'd bet that this is why the PO kept having the window switches replaced unnecessarily. It helps to have the engine running so the higher voltage gives a little boost to the window motors. :)

It is a good idea to "exercise" each window at least once a week to prevent the sticking. :idea2:
