90 300se NO START
 

Hey I have a friend with a 90 300se that will not start! He went out to the garage to start his car......nothing happend!

I have not checked the car yet......but he says the fuel pump is running and there is fuel at the distributor and he has blue spark!

He has not checked the the rotor button yet, but he did tell me that the plugs were wet......and they are crappy autolite platinum :behead: death

The car will not hit on gas put down the air horn or starting fluid!!!!:confused:

Christopher, that engine should have Bosch H9DCO spark plugs ... remove the platinum plugs as soon as possible, but they're likely not preventing the engine from starting. Is the engine turning over? If not, the battery is probably dead. Batteries in MB automobiles tend to fail abruptly with no warning ... not enough power to turn the starter motor. While you're at it check the condition of the voltage regulator brushes. The voltage regulator (2 screws secure it to the back of the alternator) needs to be replaced every 120,000 miles or so.

YA it turns over. But does not hit at all, like no ignition or fuel.
There is fuel at the fuel distributor and there is spark (blue). Is there anything electric on the fuel distributor to cut off fuel? That can prevent the car from starting?
My friend said he took the fuel lines to the injectors off and there were just drops that came out when he cranked it over.

Christopher, more details would help to diagnose the 300SE problem. From your description the engine went from starting and running fine to no-start overnight. Surely there must have been some warning signs/noises that all was not right with the engine. If you have access to a spare try replacing the overload protection relay ... located behind the battery ... best to remove the battery and the black plastic cover to access the overload protection relay. Loosen the 8mm bolt that secures the relay, slide forward, then unplug the relay ... install spare in reverse order.
