92 s 600 alarm question ( please help guys!!)

I was sitting in my car today and all of a suden when I went to start the car the car alarm sounded( I was unaware that I had a sounding alarm?) I knew i had the little red light come on when I used the key to lock the doors, but I didnt know I had the sounding alarm. HOw do I set that alarm and how do I use it? Because when I lock the door with the key and it turns red i try to open the doors but no sounding alarm goes off. But when I was sitting in the car and tried to start the car ( I think the locks were red when I did that) the alarm sounded.

Any Idea on this?

Also I know on my model i can hit the red light and hold the key down and the windows wil automatically roll up or roll down when I make the locks green. But I cant figure out how to do it everytime? What specifically do I have to do to have it work?

Thanks in advance.

Manual.

I would suggest reading the manual before having a stroke. :D

Don't panic. If you don't have the original owners manual, order one and read it thoroughly. There are more systems to learn on your one car than on all the vehicles I have ever owned in aggregate.

Good luck.

call MBNA USA and purchase the little booklets that orig came with the car, did yours not come with any? check mag pockets behind front seats.

My W126 was doing similar alarm symptoms and I did all the things the booklet said, like put master key in drivers door lock and reset, did not work, had to disconect alarm plug underneath passenger foot rest.

Also at MBNA order ALL of the Service CD manuals for your W140. electrical, climate control, error codes also.

Get yourself a good multimeter and an OCB scanner for the codes. You are going to need these.

Your car is a 92, does it have R12 freon or 134A?
