Every now and then my 560sl seems to have a manners problem. When the car comes to a stop, usually just before parking you can hear something that resembles the passing of gas..yes folks, my car is F***ing. I think that this problem has something to do with the suspension. I have replaced the shocks within the last couple of months. Could it be the struts..has anyone ever heard this from their auto?

Does the noise occur after the car is stopped, while the body is settling? Or does the noise occur just before the car stops moving? My car made a similiar noise in the latter case, and it turned out to be brake pads just at the wear limit combined with rotors right at minimum thickness. New pads and rotors solved the problem for me. If you have the first case problem, maybe a suspension bushing is worn and something is grinding and resonating through the body panels.

it is probably while the car is settling. is replacing the bushings a real large job?
