94 S600 ASR light just came on and can not reset it...Need HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!
The asr light comes on once every 3 or 4 months. No problem, just turn the car off, turn the key in the ignition three or four times and it resets...This time i was driving and it came on and will not shut off. I even dropped power from the battery and let it sit for 5 minutes , as to reset the parameters. The car drove ok for about 2 miles then the ASR light came back on. Can i bypass the asr or what are my options PLEASE????? I just noticed on other threads that tire pressure could be the problem. I do have a very low tire on my driver side rear tire. Could this be the problem? I hope its that easy? I sure hope so. I will try the tire pressure thing tommorow. Its after midnight here and I need some sleep. Will try the tire in the a.m. . Thanks !!!

Could be, you are also beating up your diff driving around w/ one tyre low.
Could be a dirty sensor or your throttle actuators starting to give fits. Jonthan

There are many possible causes, some serious others not. ASR light is a very common problem and there are many good threads on the subject. Try a search above. Do a search also for building a fault code tester and reading fault codes. Your car has a 38 pin diagnostic connector that will help you determine the source of the problem. You can build a fault code reader for the car for less than $10.

I placed the proper ammount of air (psi) in tire
ASR light still on. Light came on during hard acceleration, while passing on freeway. Where is the throttle acc. and can a reset it or clean it somehow?
Thanks |

.If it is spinning a tire at high acceleration, that is what it is supposed to do. Why don't you take a previous posters advice and get the codes?? |

Quote:
Check tire PSI all around and then get codes ..you may have a Brake Switch code in there ,,,very common ASR fault. but check tires/psi first as tire sizing is critical for rev counting/comparison by the computer for ASR. You may also consider running one thread on your problem. Dual threads take on a life of there own on and more often do not help get to the remedy of your complaint..........
