As I indicated earlier, I had removed all the door panels and tightened all the screws (and my driver seat electrical switch works better) but in the process had found some "tabs" broken inside one of the panels. After removing the panels, again, and replacing the broken tabs and spending time diagnosing the problem he charged me $94.50.

I thought that was very equitable of him in light of the time he spent banging on stuff and riding in my trunk. He did the same thing when diagnosing my tach/clock. He spent a day troubleshooting, but only charged a $100. He says it is just as much a learning opportunity for him as it is an inconvenience for me. He spent many years in the Las Vegas and Phoenix MB dealerships where he troubleshot electrical problems. His insight has been very valuable, and he only charges $50/hour!
