1985 500SEC / problems of hesitation and stalling

Hi everyone . I just found what was causing my hesitation and stalling out at stop. After doing the research provided by users here I checked all that they said. I check to see if the fuel pump was coming on. All where good but did not see the solution to my problem. While my car was running just fine , all of a sudden I would get this hesitation while letting my foot off the gas or at low speeds. When I pulled up to a light or a stop sign my Car would stall. Now I knew from driving older vehicles that if you go up a steep hill and it hesitates then your fuel pump was mostlikely the problem. This did not do that. It only did it when I was in cruise or at a stop sign or light. So when it finally stopped starting I checked the cap and rotor after I checked all that is posted here on the problem. What I found, was a blown apart rotor and since the cap was old I replaced it as well. Just to let you know , before this all happen, about 1 week before it did happen my hose fell off the radiator at the connection due to being a broken neck there. The contents emptied out on to the engine and this is what really caused that problem to occur. So if this does happen to you , make sure the cap and rotor are dry and clean before going on your way again.
