looking for coil wire

I'm looking for a good condition used ignition coil wire for my 91 300te. I don't need the entire set as it has been recently changed. Unfortunately, the previous owner didn't tie back the coil wire and it was chewed by the fan I presume. It has a short and sometimes requires me to finagle to get the vehicle started. Any ideas of where I can find a used coil wire for this car?

Many thanks and Happy New Year!

I'd try the junk yard first. Or maybe go dumpster diving at the Dealer.

Rob, check with your local independent mechanic. Normally mechanics have ignition wire and the connectors to make a new one, or you can reuse the connectors from your old one.

I have a coil wire for my 560SEL, It came with my set of new Bosch, and I never replaced it when I did the rest of the wires . If its the same part you need, I'll let you have it for 10 bucks, and I'll ship it to you for nothing. (Been in the same boat before, and had to buy a whole set ). Besides, I live in NC, also, down past Raleigh, in Kinston. It'll get shipped to you a whole lot quicker. Let me know by PM or my e-mail devilleconcours100@hotmail.com.
Thanks, and God Bless,
Dave.

Can anyone share with me if Dave's coil wire for his 560sel will fit my 300te? He was kind enough to offer his new one and I am interested if it will fit.

Thanks for your help!!

I changed the coil wire on the M103 a couple of years ago. Bought the required length and the two ends at the dealer parts department and then the service guys crimped the ends on with their special crimper.

This is one of few times I'll say this...

Go to a mechanic or the dealer. Get the right length of non-resistor 8mm ignition wire. They can use your existing connectors (they're typically "Screw on" where you just unscrew the connector from the old wire, and screw it on the new one). If the mechanic is friendly he might do it for free (I have it happen all the time and give the guy $5 or $10 for his time).
