Any US 123s gas powered?

I have an idea and was curious if there were any US gasser 123s built? |
They imported the W123 280E in the late '70s, which was a fuel injected twin cam six cylinder motor(M110). The problem was, for a little more money, you could buy a full size W116 body 280S/SE. They didn't sell many, but they did sell a few.

Hrm, I would probably have better luck finding a Euro sadly. :(

That's what I have, a euro coupe, see sig.
I got lucky I think though. Lots are very rusty. Mine was not. |

my bro has an 81 280e which he bought from me about 8 years ago. the us version is a torquey motor with plenty of power for everyday driving.
the euro is more fun though. any 280 from that era is a rare bird. tom w |

There's actually a 280TE parked just down the street from my TD. Thought for sure it was a TD but upon closer inspection found out it was a touring gasser. I think it has california plates too.

Well considering I don't need the driveline, it will be a waste. |
