W203 (C240) serpentine belt change
Hi,
I want to replace the serpentine belt (the car has 75,000 miles). Mine is '01 and I was wondering, if I should also replace the tensioner (there is an updated version available). Also, can I use the torx to loosen the tension or should I use 15mm socket and pull on the nut and risk that I might loosen the pulley? Thanks guys. |

The tensioner is simply spring loaded. Use socket & "breaker" bar & simply relieve tension on the belt. Tensioner should last 100K + miles

Thanks, M.B. Doc. I will then use the 15 mm socket and not the E10 torx.
