Just like any other car Remove drain plug, remove old filter. Let old oil drain, put new drain plug and washer on and tighten, put new filter on, pour new oil in

If you plan on following the FSS oil change intervals, be sure you use this type of filter, http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/mercedesshop/sophio/quote.jsp?clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&cookieid=1W30TVH0Y1ZI0OB6CM&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&partner=mercedesshop&year=2001&product=A6002-132846&application=000467357

If you don't know what FSS is I suggest you search this forum for tons of opinions on whether or not it is the best way to care for your engine. Follow the owner's manual recommendations for which oil to use. If you plan on caring for this car yourself, get the MB CD. Between it and this forum you should be good to go for all but the meanest repairs.
Good Luck, Dan

You also have the option of removing the oil with a suction device through the dipstick tube. Either way, it's relatively simple.
