When to Switch to Synthetic ATF
If/when I rebuild the tranny, I fully intend to switch to synthetic ATF. However, I may need to reseal the tranny in the not-too-distant future. Would this also be an opportune time to make the switch, or are there internal parts (i.e. something other than the seals) that might be adversely affected by the synthetic ATF?
Thanks. |
i use mobil one in our 124's .....no problems... i switched when i got the cars... well over 100k... don't know what was in there before, and don't care.
Synthetic tranny fluid is good bang for the buck since it stays in there for 30k the cars shifted fine before the switch..and they shift the same way now.... i am looking for heat protection more than anything else... oh... and 250k out of the trannys.:) |
