here is the number i found on a metal tag near the driver's side of the windshield...
114.011-12-014578 hope that works, thanks |
The 114 is the chassis number, which is the body type. The .011 notes which version of the 114 chassis, ie: 250. I believe the 12 means it's an automatic. The last 6 numbers are the car's serial number that only that exact car has. It's basicly a production number. Hope this helps.

The 114.011 is the 250/8 USA series. Very nice in the sense that the /8 were the the later seies and had the 130-2.8 engine. 7/69-8/72. 16.830 produced. I bought one of these in '71 and it was the best Benz I ever owned. |

Nice sled Arthur.
And the 12 in the middle of the VIN tells us it is and automatic transmission(1), left hand drive(2). |
Mike T, Thanks.- Here is the Summer one. Owned 25 yrs. Euro/Stick http://members.aol.com/ajdalton7/250euro.jpg |
The first one is a nice sled
But the "summer" sled is SWEET.
