Replacement Fuel Pump Relay for a 420 sel

I just received in the mail a replacement fuel pump relay for my 1988 420sel. The old part # was 002 545 1605 and it has 3 pin on the second row ( 9 pins total).

The new part number is 003 545 2505 and it has 4 pins on the second row. The additional pin is numbered 87H. ( 10 pins total)

I tried fitting it in and doesn't seem to want to go in.

Has anybody else had this problem when changing their fuel pump relay? I'm wondering if this is right part.

fuel pump relay

The 0035452505 is correct, Try turning the relay half a turn, There's an offset pin that keeps the relay from being plugged in incorrectly.

Apparently, the fuel pump relays are problematic on some W(126)'s. Hence, my mercedes certified mechanic did a relay bypass and using a 10-gauge short wire with pins on both ends. I believe it was pin#'s 9, and 10. Since, then, I haven't had any problems!
