Brake System Error After Lower Control Arm Replacement

2000 S430 W220 with 115,000 miles. Had an indy mechanic replace lower right and left control arms. The car was returned to me with 2 error messages. ABS light is on and BAS message is flashing and another maybe vehicle stability error message.

The error reset at start up and returnd as soon as I start driving. They test drove and put car back on lift and declared no obvious problem.

The errors did not clear after driving 2 10 mile trips. Any ideas of what I should have them look for or do I need to take it back to dealer? They will look at car again next week.

BTW last month the dealer replaced the airmatic pump and repaired a link in that system.

I would find a really good Mercedes only indy mechanic.

Jason

Assuming you dont have one odd sized tire, I suspect they failed to hook up a sensor or have damaged one.

Update. After 5 to 6 days of consistent BAS error messages, with no intervention by myself or any technician the error messages stopped several days ago and the car has reverted to normal operation.

Thanks for your comments.

The trick is to turn the steering wheel from lock to lock positions after the repair. This resets the steering angle sensor ... you did this by driving and making turns..
