Door Locker Problem
Someone as an act of vandalism, place a large amount of Superglue on the lockers of both side front door of my Mercedes Benz 1984 - 300SD.
It's impossible to turn the key to open it and also the handles are bonded with Superglue.I have tried to find some safety way to have my doors open without damage doors locks. The technical name for Superglue is:Cyanoacrylate. I found on Internet that Acetone can dissolve Superglue but I still have question if it will work good applying from outside of the door. Any comment are welcome. Thanks. Nyck |
I don't see why it wouldn't work to dissolve the superglue. I would just be very careful about getting any on the paint or trim. You may have to use some kind of syringe or qtips to get the acetone exactly where needed. Good luck.

Door Locker Problem
Thanks for good tips.
As the week in Dallas area was raining a lot, today Sunday I took a can of Acetone and syringe to remove Superglue from my MB door lockers. Carefully I insert the needle into the locker and inject acetone. While acetone was working internally I was removing from door handles. The glue became soft on handle and then carefully I turn the key with drops of acetone on it. Finally I got the key moving on both directions. I got the door open in about 20 minutes. After back in home I add a thin lubricant on all lockers to restore the lubricant removed by acetone. All doors works perfectly now. Thanks for support. Nyck |
That was just plain rude. How can anyone be so callous? I would be very cross.
Good to hear you resolved the misfortune however. Quote:
