W210 headlamp servicing?

Have any of you guys ever pulled your headlamps out, took them apart, and cleaned them thoroughly?

I'm thinking it might be a nice way to spend an afternoon, getting rid of the film of dirt that will have built up on the lenses and reflectors. I know how to remove the headlamps, but how difficult is it to pull them to bits - or would I risk snapping brittle plastic etc?

It's not hard. One (two?) of the plastic clips holding the lenses on were glued on mine, but the glue separated without much effort. I didn't break anything.

However, be very careful with the reflectors. It's easy to rub the silver off.
