Transmission Slip in 2nd
Hi,
I picked up my new 560 SEC tonight, and don't they go well! Its got the 300 HP euro engine, option 822. I did notice that upon kickdown my revs just went through the roof and were bouncing off the revlimiter. I narrowed this down to being a problem with second gear. I could drive normally in position 2, but as soon as I floored it, the revs just bounced off the revlimiter. The speed of the car still picked up pretty quick though. Also, if I released the accelerator pedal at any speed second, then the engine would just return to idle, and offered no engine braking. Other gears were fine with no slipping or flaring. And if I was driving it normally, I wouldn't even noticed the problem with second. I'm hoping that its just going to need the fluid topping up, or at a push I need a new B1 piston kit. Its dark out, so will have to wait to check the level until tomorrow. I've got a reciept for a transmission rebuild 3 years ago, so i'm hoping its not something more serious.
