modulator adjustment in m103

I'm having trouble with shifts from 2nd to 3rd and reverse gear. Seems like my modulator needs adjusting or something is wrong with the vac lines to the modulator. Can I change the setting on the modulator myself to see if this helps solve the issue? There is a big delay in shifting both manual and electronic. The motor then works to keep up with the wacky shift. I have tried everything driving-wise to get it to even out, it's just made it progressively worse. The kicker was when reverse started acting up.

Thanks for any help.

when was the trans serviced last?

Modulator adjustment has been covered @ length on this forum.

Quick and dirty:
Pass side of trans, small rubber boot, pull it and turn the t-bolt clockwise to increase pressure.

No you cannot just adjust the vacuum modulator with out an aid of a pressure guage, the the correct data for reading the pressure, what is your tranny number ? try adjusting the shifting cable first.

Sure you can..pop the cover, give the t bar a full turn & take it for a drive..see how it feels. 10's of thousands of miles have been bought on tired transmissions via the modulator valve.

would that be one entire turn? and since it's getting delayed does that mean it needs to go to the left to give it a longer play? how do you pop the lid?

Thanks
