1989 E300 No Start
 

Hi everyone i need some help with my daughter's 124 it will turn over but won't start i checked it fore fire-OK fuel pump relay -OK ovp relay-OK
now back to fuel i have power going to both pumps i also have fuel
coming to fuel dist.as it is primed but not enough pressure to open
the injector. I took one of the injector lines off and tried to start it
and fuel just kind of flows out of the fuel dist. not a lot of pressure
any thought's here.

Check the OVP Relay!!!!
 

Hey There!

On a W124, the first place i would check is your OVP relay or "Overage Voltage Protection" relay. It is a common failure and when it goes, it will do just what your saying, prevent an ignition start. The relay is located behind a black panel behind the right-rear corner of your battery. The relay will have a clear plastic panel on top that you will be able to see a fuse plugged in under it. You have to pull out the whole relay. It is a 4 or 5 prong relay. Onced removed, shake it and listen if it rattles. Smack the relay in your palm for 10 seconds or so, then plug it in and start the car- sometimes it works (mind you it is temporary!). If it starts, then you know the OVP is bad. Even if it doesnt work, dont rule out the OVP. Order a new one online, it is only 60 bucks-

Check the Fuel Pressure Sender Regulator, another common failure with age..... I have had 3 W124's and replaced both the OVP and the FPSR as preventative maintenance....

Ignition Coil?

I swapped a ovp relay from my 90 300sel witch is new didn't help as far as the coil i am getting fire i pulled a plug and grounded it and get a bright
white spark and where is the fuel pressure sender Regulator

Check for spark at every plug to confirm cap and rotor are good.
The volume of fuel from the fuel dist. at cranking is going to be very low and measuring pressure is going to be tough without the proper guage.
You could confirm that you're dealing with a fuel issue by pouring about 10cc of gas into the air flow meter and cranking, If it starts and dies you've got ignition and can spend your time tracking down the fuel problem.
If I remember correctly 89s had two pumps, If either one fails the car won't run.

Sounds like you're not getting enough pressure at the injectors/fuel delivery problem. I'd start there. Is the fuel pump building enough pressure? Dirty filter perhaps?

A white spark is weak spark. You want a blue spark. prime the intake with a bit gas to rule out bad fuel delivery if it doesn't fire. then chase an ignition problem
