secondary air injection

Does a 95 C280 have a secondary air injection pump. I have one in the shop that has been butchered by 2 different shops and I cant find the pump. It has an electrical connector for one and it gets powered up on cold starts. I know this because they had the cooling fans hooked up to this connector. I wondered why the fans would come on on a cold morning for about 2 min.
Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Our '95 C220 had an air pump that came on at cold start and ran for a couple of minutes. Not exactly an authoritative answer, but better than no answer.

C class used an electric pump, vs the belt driven ones of the E class with 104 engine.
Someone probably disconnected it b/c they are very expensive.

No idea why they would rewire it to the fans , unless they just wanted something to run that sounded like a pump for emissions test ?????????????

It should be under the alternator, toward the radiator [ or that vicinity]

Thanks for the reply's. This thing had the head off to fix an oil leak and the car was never put back together proporly. The oil leak is still there as well. It was amazing how much stuff was left loose or missing all together. Almost every light on the dash was on.
Single mom gets ripped off my a mechanic. I dont understand why it has to be this way.
If someone has a picture of where this thing mounts I can show her and try to find a replacement. Then maybe we can make a reliable car out of it. I think she should sue the bastards who did this!
