2001 CLK430 Seat Help!!
I have a 2001 CLK430 Coupe. My driver seat has been stuck in all the way forward position for a long time and its starting to get frustrating. I can't remove the seat because the rails are blocking the torx screws to take the seat out. Is there a way to manually move this seat back? I think it might be a bad motor cause everytime I hit the switch on the door, it makes a clicking sound but it doesnt move. All my other funcions on the seat work. Any help would be apprecaited.... Thank you.

Have you check the seat fuses in the trunk?

I just checked them and they are fine. I dont think there is any bad fuses because all the other functions on the seat work fine except the forward/backward (fore/aft). Also, when you press the switch either way on the door, it makes the clicking noise from under the seat which indicates the switch works, but the motor might be bad. I would really like to know what the procedure is to remove the seat when it is stuck all the way front and I have no access to the front bolts. I can't believe that German engineering would leave out a manual crank for these motors. I appreciate any help...

the fuse will cause exactly what you describe, its going to be one of the white ones in the trunk. Once you do get the seat moved, replace the fore/aft motor. Its common.

Like I said..if fore/aft is out look closely at those fuses in the trunk.

I just checked all 3 fuses and they are working fine. No problems. You guys are right, that does sound like the problem cause when I took out the other fuses, the other functions like the backrest and the up/down motors were clicking and not moving. But all 3 fuses for that particular seat, fuses 6-7-8, are working fine.
