Another 210 A/C question

I've been searching and readin for a couple of days...

My 97 E320 has been in EC mode for the winter. We had a few warm days, so I switched for AC.

I heard a faint squeal sound(from behind the AC control) and no AC...after a few days the squeal is gone, but no AC.

I don't get clutch engagement, clutch is OK, I jumped it....

I want to jumper the low/high pressure switch on the drier....which is which?

IS the EC button Pod related, if so does someone have a diagram, so that I can "mity vac" the system?

I believe I have freon...maybe too much. I had not needed gauges for this car yet...(need to buy a 134 set)
