I am considering to buy a 1994 C-class (w202) and can't locate the chasis number in the usual place (stamped on firewall)

Can anybody tell me the correct place to look for.

Look on the lower right corner of the dash (driver's side) from the outside looking through the windshield?

Or maybe on the inside of the door
