Angry 126 blows fuse 6

1990 420 SEL

#6 fuse blows when only the brakes are applied, as you may know this kills the instrument gauges.

I have changed all the fuses to ensure that I am working with good fuses.
maybe I have a short somewhere. Where?

What should I check next and where?

disconnect the abs computer which is in front of windshield by taking the large plug off of it.try again and see if fuse still blows.

well before you start bowing that was an educated guess helped by looking in an electrical troubleshooting manual to see all that fuse 6 feeds.the rest was easy.you need junk yard and should find the abs computer easily.----one more thing to try.take cover off of abs pump and remove the two relays under it.then put back the abs computer and try again.the short may be in the pump which the comp feeds.

Thanks again.

removed cover and the two relays. reconnected plug to computer fuse did not blow.

reconnected all, fuse still good, drove about a mile fuse still good. I think we may have touched something that corrected the situation.

Again you are the man.

Now to the cruise control.

cruise was working fine, applied brake to disengage, fine, but not it won't engage. what's the deal.
The cruise issue is a new issue and not a result of the abs stuff.

make sure that all brake light bulbs are working because if not cruise won't engage.
