93 190e OVP relay not seated properly

Hi,
I pulled my old OVP relay on my 93 190e 4cyl to check the fuses and all hell broke loose. The fuses were fine and I put back (atleast I thought) the OVP back in the socket. The car wouldn't start......it took atleast 5 tries before it would start. I thought the OVP was bad and got me a brand new one. The same results. Tested the cold start valve ....and no current. Then finally looked to see if the OVP was properly seated in the socket.....and lone behold it was about 1/4 inch above the socket. The socket is loose and when i push down on the OVP the socket moves downward and the OVP does not seat.

Any ideas to get it to seat properly all the way down into the socket. ???? Thanks

Same thing happened to me on my '93 2.3...I had to remove the components next to the OVP relay so I could hold the socket and fully seat the relay.

It is the same on my C124, I guess they are all designed this way. No problem as long as you know how to connect it.

Thanks Guys. I was finally able to seat it properly. I had to take the battery out to do it. Now my starting problems are gone.
