A new member PM'd me a question that I don't know the answer to... so... anybody want to lend him a hand?

Note: The cables are "kinked" and the two lateral bars look also "kinked"

Advice, pictures and instructions would be very well appreciated.

Thank you very much.

This thread goes into some detail and gives the PN for the guides.

the guides are not meant to utilize both screw holes. However, it seems that you can do that. The reason for the two holes is MB only has to stock one part that will work on either side. Once the cables are kinked, you have to replace them, no getting around it. Sounds like something is jamming, make sure you remove the lift rails, and clean and relube the teflon pads, or replace if worn. I did this exact project last year.

I got lucky and found a 2001 sunroof with glass and complete assembly on e-bay for a very good price.

The complete new roof works much better and was relatively easy to put in.
