1987 560sec-suspension issues

OK Guys,

87 560 sec- hydronumatic suspension.
I am wondering if this rear suspension can be changed to a converntional spring and shock system, and take all hydraulic lines , valves , acctuators etc out. Or do I just bite the bullet and replace old rusted lines, valves etc.
