Rear end/ tranny fluid change?
I have a 1989 300te. I am sure that the rear end fluid has never been changed...should I do it? If so, with what? Are there 'new' lubes that perform better?
The tranny is also original...should I flush it? What is the best method? What fluid should I use? The car is in great shape and I would like to preserve it's condition. Thanks |

It never hurts to change the differential fluid and it takes so little you might as well use good stuff. We use: http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlubricants.asp
The trans does just fine with 30k services with filter and a good Dextron III fluid. If you really want some over kill Redline also makes a really good synthetic: http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlubricants.asp?productID=51&subCategoryID=18&categoryID=8
