I'm afraid it's the EZL module. But not 100% sure.

cibrspeed 03-25-2007 05:00 AM

Did you try locking and unlocking the doors from the outside?

Modules are $$$....can't really test it unless you happen to have a known good spare sitting around.

I do send them off for testing from time to time...But these cars are known for eating their modules (Mercedes decided to not fuse them for some daft reason) . I can't remember if by 94 you still had 2 or if they had consolidated to 1 EZL.

I did not hear crank position sensor ? a visit or tow to MB to read codes before throwing parts into it

Thanks

O yea, i failed to mention, the car sat for roughly a month. I only cranked twice. No problems. Cranked right away. About a week later, I cranked it again it started right up......for about a second then just would turn over but not crank. I pulled a plug wire off and did not see any "zap". :(. I hope this will help you guru's out there bring BIG BERTHA back to life.
Thanks,
cibrspeed

<<then just would turn over but not crank. >>

Huh ??

Crank is a common term for the engagement of the starter motor, which is also called turn over. so, what do you mean ??

Crank is a carry down term that comes from the old cars that actually had a hand crank at the front of the engine. Electric starter motors eliminated hand cranking, but the term Crank still refers to the spinning of the engine in order to get it to Start/Run..

Please forgive me. I ment to say the car will turn over as in spin(motor rotating) but due to the lack of fire from the ignition, the car will not run. I hop this hepls out a bit.

Thanks,
Cibrspeed

..then my first suspect would be the Crank Position sensor..that triggers the ignition module.
Do a search for it [ also called reference sensor]
