Car pulls to the right
 

2001 S430. Just went back to stock rims and Michelin MXV4s 2 weeks ago. Seemed to be fine. Now in past few days car has slight pull to R. Is this usually a tire balance problem? Do not remember hitting a pothole.

tires are always the #1 suspect.......

lizem100, swap the front wheels and see if the car pulls to the left. If so, then it's likely a tire problem. If the car still pulls to the left, then it's likely an alignment problem. In either case I'm presuming the pulling occurs without applying the brakes.

I eyeballed the tires and did not think any looked low. Today passenger front was flat. Pull went away after inflation. Now I have to look for the nail.

A good way to find the nail is to fill the tire up with a lot of air and spray soap over it. It will bubble where the nail is.

lizem100, it's next to impossible to 'eyeball'' tires ans determine that the inflation pressure is the same in each. Sure you can notice if one is 10psi lower than the others, but a few psi is not readily apparent. MB and tire manufacturers recommend checking tire pressure with a quality pressure guage at least once per month when the tires are cold, and especially when there's a dramatic temperature change. Every ten degrees difference in ambient temperature can change the tire pressure 1 to 2psi, depending on the volume of air in a given tire.

no nail found! Is rim bad?
 

I went to the local tire store(NTB) and we put the tire in the dunk tank. No bubbles. No bubbles from/in the stem. We looked for bubbles in the bead/rim interface-none. The pressure had not dropped overnight but I still took it in. Every other time a slow leak was a nail. Of interest is this rim was remanufactured. I will follow the pressures.
Ferdman you are right about pressures-use the guage.
Time will tell.
