300E W124 M103 Spark Plug?

First of all I am sorry to start a new thread on this subject, but I have waded through a swamp of information and cannot find a clear answer.

So then, since Bosch has discontinued the H9DC and the H9DC0 non resistor plugs — what is the correct plug for the 300E W124 M103? If it matters more I have an 86 300E and 92 300TE.

Thanks!

I was able to obtain the H9DC0 plugs from ebay.co.uk

Click on "buy parts" at the top of the screen.

Mercedesshop only carries the resistor plugs

The NGK BP5EFS appears to be an equivalent plug. Also, there is a Beru plug, I think the part number is 14 K-9 DU (Z81).

The NGK plug you'll have to look for it on eBay, possibly in the UK. The Beru plug can be ordered from kingsborne.com.

not clear but many members have stated the get the R plug, and Bosch website says the same. I have read many posts on this subject.

Have you talked to Phil lately?
Maybe he found a source for non-resistor plugs.

The original premise of the question was wrong - both plugs are still widely available.

Hi,

can the resistor type HR9DC be safely used without the risk of damaging the engine?

Thanks!

manny 04-02-2007 11:02 AM

They won't damage your engine, but you may experience some idling/driveability issues. ;)
