Need 124 blower motor.

I need a new blower motor. Aftermarket units are a considerable savings...Anyone have any experience with particular motors ? I would hate to do the job twice...and spend the $$$ twice. Plus, I think I will need a motor with cages.
Any suggestion of on-line retailers who are reliable?

i got a pull from ebay, worked for a while then stopped working.

in retrospect i should just have purchased a new one, yes they are expensive but i think if i could afford it but didnt want to spend the money i would just spend it and get it over with. It took me about 1 1/2 to take that portion of the car apart if i recall correctly. So i sit here with a fan that randomly works (then again perhaps the issue is with the regulator too (i think that is called) - which i also purchased cheaply as a pull) and that is where i am.

I purchased parts (for other issues) from mercedesshop.com (this site). Phil was top notch, got them to me rather quickly.

Mercedes shop sells just the motor. The cages can be removed from the old blower and installed on the new one. It's a tricky process but if you are handy and have some patience it can be done.

I have a blower motor for a 1994 E320 with air filter. There are posts you can reference on removal but you need to know if your Mb has an air filter. I found my problem was a clogged air filter to the blower motor and I did not need to replace. I went thru the whole scenario and ordered from an aftermarket for it and it was not at all compatable. I had a salvage yard pull the whole assembly for me and I never had to use it. It is OEM and works. They want a lot of $ for it but I will give it to you for half than what I paid for it. $125 and I will get it to you.

124 blower motor

Hi,
In reading the posts on this subject, I noticed references to a filter. Is this a filter on the blower itself?
I have a '95 E420 that doesn't seem to have much fan output. Further more there is no difference between normal and the hi pushbutton.
Thanks
