Loud annoying noise

I have a 2002 C230 Kompressor. Whenever it rains, the most annoying noise comes from the speakers. Sometimes it sounds like gun shots, sometimes like farts, and it ranges in volume, one second it's low, the next it's so high you need to turn off the car  You just want to take a hammer to the evil thing... Even when I have the audio system off, the noise is still there. Last time it happened, it stayed for more than a week after it rained and then it stopped. It just started doing this again yesterday. It sounds like a busted speaker but I'm positive it's not 'cause it originates from different speakers and like I said, it has happened before.
Not sure if it's related, but recently, the music is also not working. I turn on the radio, and all I get is bass. This comes and goes as well. I keep it off and every now and then I turn back on, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm thinking that water is getting to the wires somehow. Any help would be appreciated since the car is no longer under warrantee and I don't trust the dealership where I bought it. The have lied to me many times... thanks

If your car has the optional sound system, there's an amplifier mounted behind the right inner trunk panel. The panel pops out in no time at all. Have a look and see if there's any water in there.

I've already checked there, and there wasn't any water...
