I have a 1987 260E with 97,000 miles. This car has a ghost in the machine. After about 70 miles of driving, it acts like a diesel would if it were to be fuel starved or has begun to suck air. The accelerator pedal has to be put to the floor just to get the unit to move, but turn the ignition key off and re-start, the car acts like it was just born, then it becomes possesed once again. I have taken it to 2 Benz dealers and a local repair shop, not 1 place could figure out what the problem was. Can anyone help?
