Oil Change 2005 C230 Kompressor

I wanted to start changing my oil on my 2005 C230 and I have a few questions.

What type of oil should I use, and how many litres does the car take?

Also how would I reset the maitance warning on the dash?

Thanks

What type oil to use?
Consult Owner's Manual - It tells you.

What is the capacity?
Owner's manual it's listed under capacities.

Re-set warning? I have no clue, but ..
google search on "2005 C230 Mercedes reset oil"
and there are bunches of answers. The first listing pretty much nails it.

IF the car is still under warranty use Mobil 1 synthetic.oil..

That engine holds 6 qts (Liters).

Hi Doc,

a general question not related to any engine: can I trust lube shops like Kwick Car, Gemini that they always put the right oil at oil change? Do I have to tell them what oil? The same for any liquid (transmission, brake ...) in the vehicle.

Thanks!

I think they show you the choices and let you choose. The oil filter is where you can go wrong. They are not going to have the proper filter. They will have one that fits, but who knows what the quality of that filter really is.

Lots of info about oil filters on the net. I would definitely educate myself, by the proper high quality filter, and bring it with me.

A better alternative would be to find a MB independent shop and have them change your oil. I would never trust the quick lube places with my MB.

Quick lubes and Mercedes should be kept as far away from one another as humanly possible.

The last thing I would trust is some 7$ an hour slacker fiddling w/ the critical fluids on one's car.

Just my 2.
