95 W202 rear headrest stuck in up position

hey guys,

did a search I can't find a definite answer: my 95 C220 rear headrest is stuck in the "up" position after my friend said he wanted to "play" with the headrest release function....

it worked before in about a month ago, and suddenly today nothing happens when you hit the headrest release switch.

there is no sound no nothing coming from near the headrests.

the vaccuum operated central lock works, though, and the dome light (that shares the fuse with the headrest release) is on no problem.

where can I find the electronic component (I'm guessing a vaccuum solenoid) in the rear headrest release?? how to get to it???

the vacuum operated solenoid is directly under the the headrest. It's kinda in between two pieces of sheet metal and a PITA to get out, until you figure out the secret to it,,, which I already forgot,,,

If you have to remove the rear deck, take a look at this tutorial. It is in French and pertains to adding a rear electric roller blind but it shows how to remove the rear shelf:
