16v front timing cover removal

hi all.

am stuggling with the above...

the whole front of the engine is stripped down, i've dropped the sump, distributor out, still cant get the actual plate off the car, the only place to leverage it is where the distributor goes....it wont budge. i am positive i have removed all fixings but on the main crank i have removed the main crank bolt, 3 big washers from behind it, the pulley wheel, another large thick washer, a large spacer (with a groove in either side) and have pryed out the rubber main seal - i have also removed the woodruff key from the crank end.

questions are:

is there anything else from the main crank pulley area that needs to come out/off to allow the plate to be removed?

i notice the plate has a couple of locating dowels as well, do these need drilling/removing?

what kind of force should the plate need to be removed, gentle tapping with a hammer gives me about 1/2 a mm movement on the side near the distributor but aside from that its not moving at all....

many thanks

The oil pan must be removed to get the bolts for the oil pump pick-up.

Also several bolts from the head into the front cover...
