1990 300 E 2.6 lr - Mystery Problem
 

The engine stoped when I was driving and wouldn’t start up again. The car was driving just fine, then suddenly started shaking and died. The car was towed home.

The engine gets fuel and spark. I replaced the Crankshaft Position sensor / over protection relay / cap & rotor and spark plugs. The compressor is 175 lb on all cylinders. I sprayed some start fluid and nothing happens. I am at a loss for any other ideas. Could the map relay be the problem?

I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice.

Well, you need spark, fuel and compression and the proper timing of such.

Since you state you have fuel, spark, and compression, that only leaves timing of such. Since timing of such never fails on those cars, I'd reassess fuel and spark.
