HID issues....heat and hatred towards DRLs

Hi guys,

I am hoping some of you more mechanically inclined can help me with an issue. My passenger side HID is shutting down when the car gets hot. It is either the igniter, balast or wiring connection perhaps heating up and losing connectivity slightly coming apart (i've used crimped connectors and those sucker are ON there so I doubt that's the issue.)

My other kits have always failed on that side and I suspect it's because it is very closed to the header/exhaust manifold(M103)...the drivers side has never had issues.

I have two questions:

1) how can I protect the components on that side from heat? Is there a product out there that I can wrap the components in?

2) Is there a way to re-wire my Bosch Euros so that my headlights only come on when I turn them on? Canadian cars past 1989 have the full headlight on all the time and I'd like to just roll with the corner lights and lower piaa fogs (see sig, ignition was off, parking lights on and my fogs are hard wired) during the day.

Please help! Thanks in advance!!!

Mark
