96 C220 Combination Switch
Has anyone over tried removing/fixing the combination switch at the steering column? My Haynes manual says that the steering wheel/airbag unit has to be removed first. Too much work.
Only reason I want to remove it is to try to check why the headlight would not flash when I pull the switch. I'm guessing that the contact in the combo sw is dirty and needs to be cleaned. |
I'll just revive this thread.... does anyone have a similar problem - no passing light? If so, what did you find to be the problem?

I have not. Does it work when you push the switch forward?

Just replace it with a new one, they are junky pieces from the get go, and I've never had one one that could be cleaned and repaired.

I have been wanting to open it up but when I read that I have to remove the air bag to get to it, I kinda chickened out. Its probably not as difficult as it sounds.
