Good idea to use coolant flush when replacing coolant?
Hi,
I am about to replace my coolant. Wondering if it is a good idea to use those coolant flush solution to flush out the dirt in the radiator or would it cause more harm? Thanks. Rick |

I would, especially if the previous coolant was the green stuff. Use the proper coolant made for your car!
As the engine warms up after installing, stop it, use your hand and reach around in the radiator area quickly and look for cool spots. If noticeable, those are coolant passage blockages. Dispose of the old coolant properly. Don't poor it down a drain! It is really bad stuff. Don't let pets near it. It has a sweet quality that dogs and cats seem to be attracted to. Haasman |
