replacing pollen filter
I have s-320, and it does not blow enough air. Eventhough, it is cold but the air flow is very light. I changed the cabin filter and it did not resolve the issue. I was told may be the pollen filter. where is it located and how do I change it.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks Michael |
Alsways post the year of you car it helps.
If your fan speed stays low no matter where you set it its probably your blower regulator that gone bad its easy to change takes about 40 minutes part is around $250 I believe. Good luck and welcome to MercedesShop |
The filter is under a elongated triangular cover at the base of the windsield.. I think it has six phillips screws and a red and green hoses going to it. I would gently remove the hoses and the screws, there is also a sender in the side of it near the drivers side. It might help to lift the sealing gasket, the filter sits below that cover and is also a sort of triangular thing. The blower regulator is mounted on the blower housing, and uses a dielectric paste under it. You should be able to order a filter and regulator form Fast Lane right here, at a much better price than your dealer. The regulator is in the ground side and the hot side is not fused. There are two versions one with a carbon coating, the other not. There is a third one if you have the electronic filter with a switch on the dash, to change that one the windshield wiper pan the wiper arms and the transmission needs to come out. It can be done but is incolved!
