190e engine wiring harness question
 

Hello,

Will a used engine wiring harness from 91 190e 2.3 work on 93 190e 2.3.?? Both are California cars. The CEL is on in my car (93 190e 2.3 4cyl) and my mechanic diagnosed the issue to be a bad wiring harness. Apparently there is open circuit on the AFM wire & Coolant temp sensor wire. Please advise.

If they have the same part number, which could be determined on EPC, which could be subscribed to for $3.00 for a month, or maybe some kind soul will look it up for you.

Those harnesses don't have systematic problems like the later cars. I would just fix the indivual issue with the harness unless it has been seriously destroyed in a melt down.
