Rear Headrest retraction
 

I just noticed that the auto retraction feature on my E420 doesn't retract the rear head rests. I checked the fuse and it was OK. How does this feature work? Any suggestions?

There is a valve connector set-up under the rear seat that sometimes goes bad. Its all vacuum operated AFAIK.

Does a E420 have the rear sunshade?....on 500Es when the shade isn't completely retracted and seated in its housing , the headrest won't come down.

Yes, When I finally put the rear sunshade ALL the way down, the headrests worked as intended. Thanks for your help.
