oil in fill tank

I have a 300E with a 3.0 six. Noticed oil in the radiator fill tank and have been using about a quart of oil every 2 weeks. The car is not overheating and idles fine. Is this a blown head gasget? If so, how hard to do and are there any things I should be aware of?
Thanks for everyone one this website. It is a joy to drive these cars, but I am a public school teacher with little funds to pay for repairs. I am grateful for the people who devote their time to help others.

Unfortunately it sounds like a blown headgasket, oil and water don't (or atleast shouldn't) mix

I agree totally - blown headgasket. I'm dealing with the exact same scenario on a friend's car right now. We're trying to figure out the various options in getting it repaired. Unfortunately, this is a major repair and is not going to be cheap.
