Is this normal ???? 190e engine wiring harness

Hi,
Here is a picture of a 93 190e engine wiring harness connector. There seems to be about 4 wires crimped together near the connector. Is this normal ??? Please advise. Thanks

Brown wire on Mercedes is ground, crimping together like this is normal.

Thanks. I also noticed two green wires - one from coolant temp sensor and the other from somewhere else crimped together in the wiring harness. Please advise.

The reason I am asking is the CEL is on and a local mechanic said that the wiring harness is bad. So i started tearing up the harness today and noticed these issue. Thanks
