Smile 1985 500 SEC ac/blower control

Hi everyone , I am new to this site. I have a very nice garaged kept all of its life 1985 500 SEC. I noticed that my radiator hose attachment has been broken off from the radiator. I have also noticed that the ac does not come on automatically when activated. Sometimes it seems for ever for the ac fan blower to come on. I really tend to keep this car in good shape and have had all the required mainence done to it for its milage ( 138,000). I need to know what I can do and where can I get a good price on the radiator, since the hose seems to push off the remaining connection every once and a while , and what can I do about my ac not coming on when I want it to. I see that there has been problems with the fan motor brushes from past posts and the raditor problem as well. Thanks for your time and effort.

Joe

those cars should have had a modification done to the fuse for the blower.the fuse in the box was only 25amp and blower draws 30amps so holder in fuse box would get hot and melt into plastic causing bad connection.benz produced a wiring harness with 30 amp fuse holder to move fuse to outside box on top of shock tower.

Red face This one has been switched to 134

HI , this one has been switched to 134 and I really need to know what input place to put the refridgerent. I thought I knew and placed in the hose at the place I thought was the place and the guage registared , green , which ment it needed to be recharged. I hope that you can tell be where the input for the refriderent goes so I may continue. I tried rapping on the blower motor , and the panel where the switches were , but since I noticed the AC needed to be recharged I want to place it in the right place to be sure. Thanks again.
