False Oil Warning Light?

Periodically the oil warning light comes on while driving our 1993, 190E, 2.3. However, the oil pressure needle gauge shows excellent oil pressure. I suspect a possible short somewhere between the sending unit and the warning light.

Can anyone give me advise on what the problem might be? Problem could also be with the sending unit. But I cannot find it. Can someone tell me where to look for it?
